Can you explain the difference between red and blue envelope icons, and what is "furling" a post?

Well, I think the red means it's a hot topic. Other than that, I don't have a clue.

Yeah, I can't see a magic number of posts or views that turns the envelope from blue to tan to red--and I can't imagine the K's have enough spare time to make that determination for each thread. Thanks Carol, for giving me something to puzzle over--

ok, the blue means that you have no unread messages and the beige means there are some new messages. Red is a hot topic-read and responded to alot.

I know what furling is with reference to a sail, but not to an online post. Since every message on here gives us the option of "furling," I'd like to know what it is

Furl is a website where you can save webpages on an account that you develop yourself. I clicked "furl" on your message to find out. It's just like the del.icio.us one, I think. You make an account and then you can save favorite web pages and sites. Other people can see what you like and go to those web pages.
Just click on it and you'll see what I'm talking about
