I was making the girls breakfast this morning and I needed more waffles so I went out to the garage where we have a full size freezer to get more. When I open the door I realize something is wrong. I either did not shut the freezer door all the way yesterday or the thing has taken it last breath. Anyway all the softer stuff like the waffles and ice cream are defrosted. Thank goodness all the meat was still frozen so I had to spend the morning rearranging the freezer in the kitchen and we also have a refrigerator/freezer in the garage tha thankfully the freezer part was empty so I have managed to salvage most of the food. I now have the freezer defrosting which is making HUGE mess all over the garage floor. My Dad thinks that maybe the compressor froze up because it was running so much if the door was open so I get to let it defrost and then plug it back in tonight and see if it comes back to life. I hope so. I love having that huge freezer!

Ugh, that does sound like a mess Stacey,hopefully it comes back to life. Who would have guessed making waffles could lead to all that !!

Thank goodness the meat was still frozen. A few weeks ago, we had a 16 hour power outage, and I ended up throwing out a lot of expensive stuff.

Oh no! That's the absolute worst. We had to deal with that last year when the power went out in Buffalo for a week after a freak October storm.
