| Vegas hotel recs | | We are spending a few nights in Vegas in Oct. What hotels do you recommend? I wanted to do the Venetian but I'm getting resistance from a cost perspective (but was told if I really wanted that we could do it). I feel obligated to look around but haven't been there in a long time so I'm not sure whats' "good" or not. |

| Re: Vegas hotel recs | | Let's see - I've stayed at a lot of the hotels - The Mirage, Bally's, Caesar's, Paris, The Alladin (which is now Planet Hollywood), the Rio. I don't necessarily have a favorite. The pool at the Mirage is nice, and it's right across from the Venetian, close to the mall, etc. So it's a good rec. Have fun - I love Vegas! |

| Re: Vegas hotel recs | | MIL always likes to stay at the Mirage. NYNY is fun, but its kind of at the far end of the strip. |

| Re: Vegas hotel recs | | Yep - we stayed at the Mirage, and the room was fine, the spa was wonderful and the pool is very nice, and good location. |

| Re: Vegas hotel recs | | Are you doing the whole family? We stayed at the Hilton Vacation resort and not as time share owners. We had to do the time share presentation but since we had kids with us it took about 30 minutes and we were out of there. We got a two bedroom two bath for about $300 for three nights. SO WORTH IT. Full kitchen, family room. It was great.
Aside from that I have stayed at the MGM, Excalibor (very smokey but great kid area), Tropicana, Paris and hotels that aren't there anymore! |

| Re: Vegas hotel recs | | I think that Mandalay Bay is nice with a nice pool area, but it's a little further out on the strip. The Bellagio is also obviously super nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $$...the rooms are just the standard Vegas room...nothing special. MGM is fine..not fancy, but not bad. Also kind of far from the rest of the action on the strip. I would pick the Venetian, too! (I haven't stayed there, but I've heard good things!) |
