Anyone used these (the ones where you suck the air out with a vacuum)? They seem so gimicky- but I've got a ton of Ben's clothes to pack away and our basement is cramped as it is and so damp in the summer. And since our house only has 3 closets (one of them being a tiny linen closet) I'm thinking that if they actually work- I might be able to save some serious space.
When we lived in the apartment we used them to store our out of season clothes in the garage. They actually work really well. It can be kind of tricky to get the vaccuum hose on there just right, but one the air gets sucked out its out.
They do work, but don't pack them too full or suck out too much air. What "seemed" to be ok all of a sudden went "pop" in the middle of the night and scared the bajeezus out of me.
I don't know if I over pack them but they always seem to pop on me! When they work they are great. but when they don't they can give you heart failure.
