Did you/are you/do you plan on sending your child to preschool (outside of the public school system)? Yes, Alden will be attending a private Prek this fall.

What age did they start preschool? He will be one month shy of his fourth birthday.

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? This is his first away from mom experience.

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? He *really* needs time away from mama and time to socialize with other kids. He isn't getting that as much anymore since all of his peers are in preschool starting last year. I also want him to have the experience of a school setting before kindergarten. He has never been away from me so this is a huge change for us. Wish us luck!

Did you/are you/do you plan on sending your child to preschool (outside of the public school system)? Asher will start this year at a private, non-church based preschool.

What age did they start preschool? He will be in a 2yo class but will turn 3 five days into the school year. We plan to send Anna next year, and she will also be in a 2yo class. Our school has different classes for "Old 2s" and "Young 2s".

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? N/A, we didn't do daycare. It is a preschool that is not connected to a daycare, though.

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? I wanted to find something that would really energize him for learning instead of just dumping him into a kindergarden full of expectations and rules. So my goal for him in preschool is to explore some really neat stuff that he thinks is fun and develop strong social interaction skills - all to hopefully set him up for lifetime learning.

Did you/are you/do you plan on sending your child to preschool (outside of the public school system)? Yes...Sam is currently enrolled, and Annie will enroll next fall.

What age did they start preschool? Sam: 2 years, 10 months. Annie will be 2 years, 9 months

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? Not a daycare, but they attended "Parents Day Out" there one day a week before preschool.

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? I wanted them to be prepared for kindergarten...mostly I was concerned about the social/classroom aspects. I also knew that there were types of learning that I couldn't provide. And EVERYONE here sends their kids to preschool...I don't know a single family who does not. (Though I personally did not go to preschool).

We sent Maribelle and Risy to private preschool and pre-k. Baby M will go as well.

What age did they start preschool? Maribelle was 3.5, Risy just turned 3 and Baby M will be almost 4 (she misses the cut off by one week so she will be one of the oldest in her class)

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? N/A

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? Mainly socialization. Many of the families at our school start in Preschool and continue to 8th grade, they really form friendships prior to Kinder since it is all the same kids. I think that made/will make the transition easier for them. We send them to a Catholic school so I like that what they are learning in class is faith based.

What age did they start preschool? 18 months, 2 mornings/week, this year she's two and she'll go 3/week

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? Separate

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? I needed a break! and I wanted her to socialize until then it was all mommy all the time, also I'm clueless when it comes to crafts and such, she did so much more at "school" than she ever would at home.

Did you/are you/do you plan on sending your child to preschool (outside of the public school system)? This coming fall she will go to a neighbor's home twice a week for "preschool" as their nanny used to run her own preschool and still does a preschool program for the little boys. There will be Isabella (3.5) with another 3.5 year old and a 1 year old.
Next year, she'll go to a formal preschool.

What age did they start preschool? 3

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a separate facility? Nope

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? This small home setting is great for now as she is really learning new things and getting some separation from mama yet it is VERY relaxed, laid back, and comfortable. I see the need for more socialization, learning to take instruction from someone other than me, and all of us needing to practice getting out the door by a certain time (ay yi yi, Vacation Bible School is kicking my butt!).

What age did they start preschool? DS-4, DD-3 (the ages at which they arrived)

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? n/a, but not associated with a daycare

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? We thought full immersion would facilitate their learning English and the American culture as quickly as possible so that they would be ready for kindergarten. Preschool & Sesame Street transformed them into little Americans pretty fast

What age did they start preschool? They will have just turned 3 and will be in the 3 y.o. class 2 days a week, 2 1/2 hrs a day

Is it at a daycare they already attended or is it a seperate facility? N/A; It is affiliated with a church and there is no daycare associated with it.

What factors lead you to enroll your child in preschool? I wanted them to have a classroom experience without all the pressure. They are very social kids and despite doing lots of playdates, I wanted them to have the social experience, as well as the experience of being away from me and listening to a teacher, etc. They are so ready for it, as am I!
