I wax and use Tend Skin. Works like a charm for me, and my skin is sensitive. Call the place you went and ask for what kind of wax they use. It may be helpful for you to find a place that uses a sugar-based wax instead if that isn't what you have been exposed to yet.

Also, everyone I know who has tried threading LOVES it. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to.

I can't be waxed. It makes me so sad. I would love to be able to find a wax that works, but my skin gets so irritated. It almost looks like they burned me, but it is just a reaction to the wax.

Threading is the best.thing.ever. I don't have anyone close to me that does it, so I am resigned to plucking. Try to find a place near you that does this. It is amazing.

But can they thread peach fuzz? I pluck my own eyebrows and am fine with that. I go back and forth I am afraid to wax because then I wonder if I will get coarse black hairs rather than the blonde peach fuzz I have now.

Keri - that was exactly me - really just blond fuzz. I never did anything about it because I never wanted to make it worse.
I have had it threaded twice now (I've never waxed my lip - the threading is the only thing I've ever done). It hasn't grown back heavier or darker or anything, just the same as it was. It was never stubbly either - just grew back in as the same fine blond hair. I'm going to do it again soon - but it's not like I *have* to do it now - I'll just do it when I get my brows done.
Note though that it does hurt on the upper lip. I found it very sensitive during the threading process but no irritation afterwards.

I had just fuzz too and ONE time the girl talked me into waxing. It made me very irritated, and just as bad, there was nothing for my make up "hold on to" and so I looked ridiculous for a few days with irritation and no make up to stay on it. I'll never do it again (and just doing it once doesn't change the way that it was, still just a little fuzz)!

Shower, or steam your face somehow. It helps your pores open, and there is less irratation that way.

Oh yeah. Threading the upper lip is quite painful...surprisingly so. But, it's a small area, and often I will ice it before and after to take the sting away. Once she's done threading, the pain is done and the hair does not come in coarser or darker, just as it was before, or lighter as is my case!
