| Lip waxing question | | I am new to lip waxing, but I am breaking out BAD every time I get it done. Is this normal or should I go somewhere else and try a different person who uses different wax? Or does it matter?
I come home and wash my face right after I get it done, too. Half of the time I have a hairy upper lip and then the other half it's all zitty on my upper lip. Gross. |

| Re: Lip waxing question | | I haven't done my lip, but whenever I get my brows waxed if I let them do between the eyebrows I break out just like you are describing...like little pimples over the whole area. I have had it happen at a less expensive place and at a REALLY nice spa, so I think it's just that my skin there is sensitive to wax and not a matter of quality of the place.
Have you tried a dipilatory there? Does that cause you to break out, too? What about an at-home wax kit? |

| Re: Lip waxing question | | Is there anyone who does threading in your area? I get my upper lip and brows threaded (a middle eastern technique...the person actually uses thread to snag the hair and pull it out), and never, ever have any irritation.
Tend Skin is supposed to help calm waxing irritation. |

| Re: Lip waxing question | | yes, Tend Skin that or order up some No More Bumps from the makers of No Scream Cream. Both work GREAT for me. Also, get an exfoliator once the soreness is gone. It helps a lot too.
And seriously, for the cost of waxing or threading, find a laser person near by. Just a few treatments later and about 75% (maybe more) of the hair is gone saving me a few waxing trips and makes the initial cost worth it. |

| Re: Lip waxing question | | Kortnee, I get that kind of break out and I've used Tend Skin. I can't find a threader near me. Bleaching and hair removal creams don't work either. I've done laser in the past, it all grew back, corser and darker after hormonal changes.
I am in the middle of getting it electrolozied (sp?). That is the only hair removal that has lasted through the hormone changes.
Having said all that, when I'm mid zap sessions, I shave. Hanging my head in shame here. I can not believe it has come to that, but sadly, that is what I have to do. |

You know you aren't alone! I am a month out on my last laser session and I just tweezed about a dozen chin hairs tonight! I was so sad! I knew I should have just shaved them and scheduled another laser but the shaving for two months irritates my skin so bad and I couldn't resist but to tweeze them! I told myself starting tomorrow it is razer from here on out for two months and then the next laser treatment. Hormones are a when it comes to keeping up with this stuff! |

| Re: Lip waxing question | | I have never waxed my lip or eyebrows and y'all are scaring me
I was thinking of doing my lip because although I only have very fine fuzz there it seems like it is more obvious like the hair is getting darker? I don't have any corse hairs. I've never done my brows - I pluck them myself - because I'm afraid of coming out with skinny brows that are NOT me at all. |
