Cyn, there are alot of sites that claim to have them cheaper but they never have them in stock. I've read something about it being some sort of scamming issue, but I don't remember where or what it's all about. I got my body only from Amazon, I think it was $528.

My Sony cost more then that! I thought these were $1500 cameras! Hmmmm, I think I need to go to Costco tomorrow.

Ok, a lot of this makes little sense to me. I can tell though that there are some significant upgrades. Even still, do you think the XT is a decent camera? Would it be a good investment or am I just wasting my time?

Wow....Amazon has the XTi with the lens kit for the same price as the body only. It's $120 off (the body only is $20 off). Even though I really want a 50mm f1.4 lens, I'd have something to start with.

You guys...what about the XSI vs. the XTi? What do you think? At Amazon, the XSI, body only is $638 w/free shipping. What do you think about the difference in features?

Ok, I found a good compact flash card, and am ready to buy my XTi. I have a quick question ... I have the XTi for Dummies book in my cart as well (yes, they make one!!). I am NOT a photographer, and if I'm going to spend this kind of $$ on a camera, I want to really learn the ins and outs of it. Would you get this? Canon offers a "field guide" for the XTi. Does anyone have either of these books?

I haven't seen the Canon Dummies book, but I love the Dummies books. I don't think you can go wrong with it!
