We have the sony 350a...and so far so good. I still want to get a couple of lenses but the lense that came with it is "fine" for right now...

I *LOVE LOVE LOVE* the click click click of it! I can have 4 shots taken before another camera even takes ONE!

Isn't that the best. I love the rapid fire. I get the coolest shots with that!

Y'all are really tempting me. I love my Canon PowerShot for travel, but I would like to be able to get faster/better action shots now that spencer is starting to play sports. Maybe for Christmas

Do it! You can get a dSLR now for a great price. The Rebel XT is $500 at Coscto. Their return policy is great. If you don't love it (which you will), return it.

Ali, I know you're not Costco, but do you know if that is body only? If not, what lense does that come with? I've been looking at buying the body only and then getting an f1.4 lens. TIA!

No, it's a package. I think most Coscto Rebels are. You will have better "body only" luck at Amazon. They're lens prices tend to be good too.

ETA: That's just what they have on-line. They may have body onlys in store but I've never looked.

Thank you!! I'll check it out. I found it on one site for a good price, but they were out of stock. I signed up for email notification when they got them in again, but haven't heard anything. If you ever happen to run across any good deals, please post them! Thanks!!

Do I have to get a special printer for the XTi? I have an HP photo printer right now.

Just kidding. I would assume your printer is fine. I backlog mine for an embarrassingly long time and then have them printed from an online place.

LOL! I print out a couple at home ... one for the "watch me grow" calendar and then a couple here and there. For the most part, I print mine from Shutterfly.
