Thanks Jen. I'll start off by saying my hair has a very annoying half curl, half wave. I can't let it air dry, it gets totally crazy if I do. For every day I blow dry, not crazy but not with a brush. I just run my fingers through to keep it as tame as possible and keep the general shape. After it's dry, I go over the top section with the iron so it all lays flat - 10 mins from wet to finished. For a special occasion, I clip all my hair up and let out one section at a time to iron. I make sure each section is straight and laying right before I start on the next section. From wet -done 20 mins max. I put a little shine stuff on afterwards to avoid the flyaways and that's it.
The CHI can get your hair straighter than how I wear mine. I like a litte more volume so I pull the iron up as I straighten the top section so it's not board-straight. But you can definately get your hair super straight with the CHI if it is the look you're going for.
I usually do it everyday if I'm leaving the house. It's still straight the next day but I have oily hair and have to wash every day. If you can go more than a day in between washings, you'd maybe just need a little touch up here and there.
