If you cut hair at 6:15 in the morning you're going to need a towel, a comb and some scissors.
Once you cut the hair you will have to restyle it.
When you restyle it your teenager will complain.
So you'll hand him a broom to clean up the mess (and shut him up)
Once he haphazardly sweeps the floor you'll need a Dyson.
So you'll turn on your Dyson and realize there is also cat litter on the floor so you'll keep vacuuming, then you'll notice your bedroom needs to be vacuumed which will take you out of eyesight of your nursling.
Your nursling will cry so you'll turn off vacuum to tend to baby.
You will attach baby to boob and continue vacuuming.
The vacuuming will rouse sleeping children.
Sleeping children will want to be fed.
So you'll pour cheerios and feed said children (with infant on your boob)
Baby has fallen asleep so you will ever so gently lay her down to sleep.
Your coffee is now cold so you will pop it in the microwave.
While your coffee is in the microwave you will check your e-mail.
The microwave will beep and you'll realize it's been in there for a full minute and while running towards the microwave you will trip on the vacuum cord, shout an expletive and wake sleeping baby.
If you're going to cut hair at 6:15 am you're going to need a shot of tequilla to go with it!
It's not unusual for me to cut Cory's hair but 6:15am is a little much

If you would have seen his hair this morning you would understand. Once his hair gets a certain length, maybe an inch, he combs it forward ala George Clooney 1999 except his hair is a little longer than George's and has 50Xs more gel in it! So picture wet, sticky bangs combed forward and you can see why a haircut was necessary at 6:15am.
I was awake until 12:30 or so last night, just as I was dozing Lilia woke up at 1:00ish and was attached from then on. Brendan has to get up EARLY for cross country and sometimes sleeps through his alarm so
DH checks on him before he goes to work to make sure he is up by 5:30 at the latest. I was somewhat awake this morning when I asked if he had woken up Brendan he said "I can't find him"

That's not something you say to a Mama that is half awake at 5:30am! Some of you may remember that Brendan has had night terrors and is known to wander during the night. Immediately I am having visions of calling 911 and describing a skinny 12 year old boy in nothing but boxer shorts. I suggested he check Cory's bed and thankfully he was there. Note to
DH - Any Mama worth her weight cannot simply drift back to sleep after someone has told her they cannot find one of her children
I figured since I wasn't getting back to sleep I might as well accomplish some of the tasks that were running through my head keeping me awake at midnight. I remove boob from sleeping baby's mouth and head to my office. I start clipping threads on some things I stitched the other day and brew a pot of coffee. I have been weaning myself but on days like this I just have to have a cup! Lilia starts babbling then fussing. So much for getting work done with a quiet house.
Plan B - Read a book while nursing and hopefully both of us will go back to sleep. Enter teenager with sticky bangs plastered to his forehead.
The boys are gone, the girls are up. Time to strip the beds, take a shower and get dressed for school
