Their coffee is more expensive than in the US and from what I´ve noticed even far away places like New Zealand! Until a year ago a latte was 3.60 euros then within the past half year it was raised to 3.80 and just the other day (in less than a year!!!) to 4 euros for a grande size!!! I´m so pissed! The euro is about 1.40 USD right now...that means we´re buying their freakin coffee for 5.60 USD!!! Unfortunately it is my favorite latte to drink but I think I have to boycott them...
I´m not sure how Starbucks business works, I know the name of the person who owns Starbucks in Greece and he´s a millionaire who owns large grocery store chains here. Is this a franchise? I thought Starbucks had a centralized policy to which all their stores abided and that included their prices. I´m tempted to write an email to Starbucks USA to inform them of this...or would a make a fool of myself?
The employees at the store were embarrassed about this and agreed with me it was ridiculous. They said something about dairy producers raising their prices last week which is the reason Starbucks raised theirs too...
I´m so pissed at greek Starbucks!!!
