I found a luna moth cocoon under the train table in our playroom. But, I didn't know what it was and when I was moving it, it popped. I was very gentle, but apparantly not gentle enough. I googled it and when I realized it was a luna moth, I was so sad. The kids and I could have watched the process. Oh well.

Maybe there are others outside? Now that you know what they look for you can do a moth cocoon search this afternoon outside?! That would be so cool to watch. I remember loving that as a kid.
