Right after the 4th of July, we were invited to our friend's bday party. I had to work that weekend and DH just wasn't able to make it. This is a long time friend of Dh and they still live up near my ILs.
The following weeking, RS and DH went to my IL's for the weekend. I sent the gift with the boys to drop off at our friends. They were on vacation, but left the gift with the ILs to drop off later that week when they got home.

A week or 2 later, we got a note from them with E's new picture. I mentioned to DH that it wasn't really a thank you and did FIL really drop off the gift. I was assured he did.

These friends are invited to RS' party tomorrow. Our home phone is out. We've had 2 nights in a row with big storms and we're lucky to have power. I have no idea if anyone has left a voice mail or not regarding the party. I asked DH if he's heard from our friends, in case they aren't coming now. He hasn't heard anything. Then Dh called his dad about something completely different and mentioned that we haven't heard from his friend yet about the party. FIL then says that he'll bring E's gift in case they come to the party!!!!

We've been up there twice since then and I would have gladly taken it to my friend. Why the hell wouldn't have one of the ILs said something? If they didn't want to drop it off they should have told me. Grrrrrr. Lesson learned.

I would be highly annoyed Lynni- that stinks. But I'm sure your friend won't think anything of it, I know I wouldn't.
