Default He said "Tuscany."

Pedro and I were talking about redoing our half bath. It is in the center of the house, we have a brown living room and a yellow kitchen on either side. Not that the bathroom is open to either room but just for color flows sake...

We have a new pedistal sink, tan marble tile for the floor, and want to get a new light fixture and medicine cabinet. I wanted to do brushed nickel and modern. He said he wants it to look like Tuscany.

I have no idea what that is...

Any clues for me on how I can make our bathroom look like Tuscany using paint, a medicine cabinet, and a light?

To me, Tuscany is more rustic. Like a brick wall with warm gold yellow walls. I'm sure you can find a more rustic light fixture and an distressed medicine cabinet.
Ask him for some pictures of what he is thinking about. I could be way off on what I think of as Tuscany.

Probably a washed out patina in a pastel color, whether yellow or rose. Antique/rustic details like handles or light fixtures and I like the idea of the distressed cabinet. You can also use "chicken wire" (hopefully that's the word Martha uses) istead of glass panels for the cabinet...Just a few ideas but really there are so many different the Tuscany style includes. However will this match the rest of your house decoration? It is kind of difficult combining a modern home for example with a rustic bathroom.

Default Re: He said "Tuscany."

First of all, I am totally LMAO that Pete said "Tuscany". My DH would never even know how to describe what he wanted. That is cute.

When I think of that, I think of iron fixtures like these

Bathroom Lighting, Bathroom Lights, and Bathroom L

OK, so now I can't get this font back to normal. Forgive me.

Anyway, paint wise, I think of a deep yellow gold with maybe a faux finish and dark trim.

Here are a few websites that might point you in the right direction.

Tuscan Bathroom Design : HGTVBath Design

Tuscan Bathroom Design | Rafter Tales

Hope that helps!
