Anyone else notice how gas prices are suddenly dropping now that we are coming up to the election season? This just is too suspicious. I totally think it is being manipulated so that the general public will think the economy really isn't that bad. It is really bugging me

I haven't really thought about it, but love that it's costing me $30 less to fill up than it did a month ago.

What I think is funny is that the press acted like it was the apocolypse because prices were so HIGH earlier this summer and freaked everyone out and made them go even higher, but they never report on the fact that they have gone DOWN. I personally think it's nothing to do with politics, but everything to do with the press making a huge deal out of nothing, which in turn, makes "nothing" into a real problem. Now that the press has moved on to bigger things, the market can regulate itself based on supply and normal demand.

I have not seen one single story about the fact that gas is $.50/gallon lower now (not a how/why it went down, what measures are in place to make it better, just a "woo hoo"...nothing). Not one. But when it was up, it was on 5 times a day.

I also wouldn't be surprised if there was an influx in troops coming home right before the election...

I love the way everyone is so friggin happy that the gas prices are "low" now. Really? They are still ridiculously high. I won't be happy until gas is $2 a gallon. I still think if they invested in some extensive public transportation systems there would be less cars, gas usage, and traffic. I would love to use public transportation, but it just isn't available to me. Mini rant over .
