Okay, I used to think this was a great story...until I read it to Alden yesterday. I have read that book SIX times in the past two days. I think it is going to get "lost" tonite or I might just lose my mind. I can't stand saying the word 'Lambchop' one.more.time!!! No point, just needed a good vent. DH just doesn't get it! grrrrr...

What is Flat Stanley? They had an episode of King of the Hill where there was a flat stanley...

He is a childrens book character who gets flattened one night when his bulletin board falls on him. He has to go around being 1/2 inch thick and uses his "flatness" to catch thieves, help people, etc. (He eventually gets blown back up by a bike pump...) It's a really cute story and a lot of time teachers will have the kids send out Flat Stanley pictures to thier friends and family around the country and record his adventures. My niece's class did that a few years back and the mama's here were AWESOME about helping her out. Oh, and his parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lambchop and the book refers to them by that name over and over and over, hence my disdain for the word.

Someone once commented to me that since I have access to so many books, how do I ever choose which ones I read to my children. I told them that I won't bring home anything I can't stand to read more than once.

Yep. I try to read every book at the library/bookstore/book sale before bringing it home.

But I love O. J. Dart! (ok, I'm not the one who has to read it repeatedly any more, but it was one of my very favorites when my kids were little)

I know how you feel. We don't have that book and I don't think we will just in case she wants me to read it several times a day everyday like most of her books.

LOL , Steven has a really bad see and find Christmas book that he LOVES and DH and I try to hide it so we don't have to deal with it every night. The first couple of nights it was fun....after that...it got old and annoying real fast!
