Jodi's post about stockings made me wonder if we're the only family who doesnt do them. Growing up we never did and I find the whole idea of doing them overwhelming for some reason. All the little extras to have to deal with and decide on. So let me know - are we just clueless, or are there others who don't do stockings?

We always have and I love them. It is my favorite part of Chirstmas.

Not only do we "do" them, we are obsessed with them. Growing up we had them on the matnle AND in the bedrooms!!! Santa filled our bedroom ones with sweets an dfruit, and the toys/fun stuff was downstairs in the second one.

We do the same for the kiddies.

When I was little we did. Then as I got older my mom quit filling them but still had them hung out. I find them so adorable that DH and I have been doing them for as long as we've had christmas together. I find stocking stuffers pretty easy - candy, gift cards (I always get DH a gc to his favorite fast food restaurant), car wash gift cards, massages, little toys for the kids (small dolls, cars, trains, my little ponies), sippy cups, panties (for the kids ), DVDs/CDs, small gifts (think jewelry, iPods, etc).

I'm with Lynni - it's my FAVORITE part of gift opening. We've always done them. I really enjoy doing them for DH and the family. It's fun to see small things throughout the year that I pick up for stockings. We do chapsticks, candy, gift cards, small toys/books. Plus- I love candy and we've always had really long stockings that were always full of candy and candycanes.

yes, we do them. Growing up, my family celebrated St. Nicholas Day and our stockings were filled on that day. DH grew up with stockings on Christmas Day, so we now do both. Lucky kids!

Stockings are THE thing in our family.
I have Christmas stockings at my home (in Seattle). One at my mom's home. And one at my Grandparent's home. All the stockings get filled. Opening the ones at my grandparents house on Christmas morning is the best. About 50 of us at Christmas...all opening stockings at once (which had actually been hung by the huge fireplace)..mass chaos -- it's GREAT!

It's also my favourite part of Christmas morning. I don't find it overwhelming because I buy little things as I see them. DH and I are only doing stockings for each other this year (no gifts) and then we'll buy something big together for the house once the holidays are over. Stockings are actually really fun to shop for!

I love stockings and do one for each kid, DH, myself, my parents, my ILs, DH's uncle, and Asher's godfather (DH's best friend). For DH I do little gadgets, gift cards, chap stick, candy, socks, etc. This year the other guys are all getting what I normally get DH, just not as much. The ladies are all getting collapseable measuring cups and spoons, WS quick bread mixes, and Burts Bees lotion. DS is getting play doh, crayons, coloring book, small toys, stickers, and bubbles. DD is getting teething toys, a fun onesie, a pair of pink baby Uggs, bows, Trumpette socks, and Burts Bees apricot oil.

I have about 50% of that stuff from one trip to Target!

Jill it is easy just go find a whole bunch of little things and go from there. M and Baby Kiwi will LOVE it!
