Did your mother breastfeed you?

She did breastfeed my sisters and me. I think it was only until 6 months or so. I know we got formula before switching us over to milk at a year.

Heavens, no! In 1945, breastfeeding was considered lower class and not "modern." Instead, moms spent all kinds of energy and time mixing up their own formula, sterilizing glass bottles and rubber nipples, and generally making a lot of unecessary work for themselves. I didn't even meet a breastfeeding mother until I was seven, and I was fascinated that women could do that

She tried. She tried with my brother and failed. She didn't try with my sister and she tried again with me (six years later )but gave up right away when she got the horrible cracked nipples again. That is my "other" answer.

Yes my mom did...for only a few weeks but she still did

I will honestly never know, and here's why...I am the youngest of 3 girls. My mother claims she breastfed one of us, but not the other two. She doesn't want any of us to claim we are smarter, healthier or better off than the other two. (I have an inkling it was me, but anyone's guess is valid!). I respect her for that decision, and never press her for the answer.

My Mom did with both my brother and I, I think for about 6 months each. She has been the HUGEST support for me BFing...I am lucky!

I voted no because my mom only BF for a couple of days and then decided it was gross. Sadly, she still has that opinion.

Breastfeeding no, not either me or my sister. I just don't think it was done much. We were both cloth dipered only. My mom and my dad we very supportive of my breastfeeding all the girls, even more so than DH who was convinced it was killing me (making me very skinny and making my RA worse) but it was my decision to do it for as long as I could.
