Dangit Starbucks.

I was actively working on my Starbucks habit, and doing really well, when they up and reintroduced their petite vanilla bean scones. Dangit. Now I wake up craving those little scones every.single.morning. And of course they *need* to be washed down with a smooth latte, right??

But they are "petite" right? So surely they are not at all fattening or high in calories?

PS - our Keurig coffeemaker has saved us hundreds of dollars (or denied Starbucks hundreds of dollars in profit) since we got it at Christmas. I can.not. walk out of Starbucks without a pastry in addition to coffee.

We have a great espresso maker, but we never use(d) it. It is one of the cartridge Nespresso kinds, and really nice. So making the actual coffee is easy. But apparently I am steaming-and-frothing-dumb because it takes me so much time and I usually burn myself, and then it never turns out right.

Just warm up the milk in the microwave and get one of those $10 frothers from Sur le Table to foam it up. I can't figure out those steaming/frothing things either!

Those scones are evil! I love them.

I just discovered their breakfast sandwichs by accident yesterday. In my haste to get out of the house, I realized that I hadn't fed Jack & Reed.

I was taking them to my mom and she never has any good breakfast food. I pulled through there and bought one of the classic breakfast sandwichs for them to split. OMG. Sooooo good. English muffins, egg, bacon, shredded chedder cheese. Just the right amount of salt & pepper. Grilled to a crispy perfection. My kids loved it! I was so tempted to go back and get one for me!

But I happily ate my 3 petite vanilla scones as I sipped my chai instead.

And they give you those darn "Treat Receipts" so you have to go back and get another cold, grande drink for 2 bucks.
