Default Bridesmaid Etiquette

So I am going to be a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding in October. Do I tell her that we are going to start trying for another one soon? What do you do about ordering dresses? I have no idea how long it will be until I get pregnant. Riley just happened, we weren't trying at all. We haven't told anyone we want another one.

Usually you have to order the dress about 8 weeks in advance so by then you will probably have an idea of what's going on.And if you feel comfortable telling her, then tell her(She is your BFF after all)I think it's great that you're going to be TTC

I wouldn't tell her. You don't want to give her another thing to worry about. She will be delighted if you get pregnant and you will be able to take care of the dress closer to the time. If you have to order two dresses so one can be cut up to alter your original dress, that's how it will go.

Happy babymaking!

Don't tell her....
I have witnessed pregnant women of all stages in weddings. Bridal stores know just what to do.

don't tell her until you are pregnant. Take that back, would she be an understanding bride and okay with a pregnant brides maid??? I was six months preggo in a wedding and the bride was amazing about it and had my dress made as I grew and last minute alterations done before the wedding. I was also two months pp in a wedding and did the same thing. Both my sister and SIL were preggo (my sister seven months) in my wedding and I was over the moon for them!

Personally, I would tell her. If she's the kind of bride who's going to freak out about stuff like that, then she's probably going to handle it less well the longer you wait. Hopefully, though, it's not a problem!!

If she's a very close friend (and I'm assuming she is if you are in her wedding) I'd probably tell her. I've known a couple of people who absolutely wouldn't want a pregnant woman in their wedding - which I think is ridiculous.

She is not a bridezilla kind of girl, so I know she won't freak out. I just didn't want to stress her out anymore than necessary. I think I will tell her this weekend before we meet with the other girls to start looking at dresses. Thanks for the advice!

I was 1 week from delivery when my sis got married. I had ordered the dress before I got pg! They ordered extra material and put panels on both sides of the dress. You could not even notice.

I would wait until the cut-off to order the dress. If you're not pg at that time, you might be safe with your current size since you won't change too drastically in the beginning stages. If you are, you can go from there. Just be sure to order extra material at the same time you order the dress if they will have to do alterations at a later date that way it will be the same dye lot.

I would tell her. Especially if she's not the stress out type. And I would stress that "this is your problem to deal with if you're pregnant and showing at wedding time." I'd ask her not to tell others if you don't want them to know and of course not select the dress based on your "maybe." Just be one of the girls shopping. Have fun shopping....
