Ally- any news (political)??

I finally got a dose of the news on my way home from the store and I heard that McCain will announce his running mate tomorrow, but that it will be "leaked" sometime this evening to try to steal a little of Obama's thunder. They said it was narrowed down to Romney and the Gov from MN (can't remember his name at the moment). I can't imagine how crazy the commercials are going to get if it's Romney, between the Republican commercials with soundbites of Clinton and Biden bashing Obama during the primaries, then add ones of Romeny bashing McCain.....ug, I'm sick of the negative. Early on (when his primary run was imploding and nearly bankrupt) I heard talk that he would have to go with someone with a strong financial background and understanding of the economy because this was his major weakness (kinda like the Biden choice rounding out international affairs experience for Obama). Haven't heard talk of that lately and I don't know the experience of the two potentials on economics. Anway....that was a really long post just to ask "Ally...are you going to be our "leak"?

Pawlenty is the MN govenor.

I'm dying to find out too! I think Romney has better name recognition but I think he is a bit supercillious. I like Pawlenty better as an individual but am not sure he'll be as big of a vote getter as Romney.

I know nothing. DH says he knows nothing.

I have some ideas, and so does DH, based on the travel schedule of some of the major players. Only time will tell.

I did just see on CNN.com that Pawlenty's scheduled appearances have all been "abruptly" cancelled so he can get back to MN. Could be a sign that he's on his way to meet up with McCain?

Or is it a sign they are using him as a decoy?

He is hosting the RNC in St. Paul in a few days, I would expect him to be here. Fingers crossed at our house though

I like Pawlenty, a lot. He fits the bill nicely.

I will come around to Romney. He just said too much bad stuff about two different bosses of DHs, so I still hold a grudge.

But personally, I am still holding out for "other". We will see.

Can't stand Romney, but then I wasn't going to vote for McCain anyway. Funny thing is, I would have voted for him in 2000, when he was still being McCain instead of Bush-lite.

Me, too, Ally.

Romney has a LOT of baggage...with all of his criticism of McCain during the primaries, it would be rough to overcome all of the soundbytes that I'm sure the press has cued up and ready to go.

Have I mentioned that I can't freaking wait to find out? Pins and Needles here!
