| What are your sewing projects? | | Sounds like several people are sewing right now. What are you working on? Any pictures?
I'm sewing a dress for Sophia. It's a knock off of a cute but very expensive dress she received for her birthday. It's really simple completely flat (reversible) piece of material that crosses over in the back. A lot like this but longer with bloomers. Butterick - B3846 - Infants' Top, Shorts, Pants And Hat - 3846
Oh and the fabric is polka dots (thanks to Ali's picture of that gorgeous dress!)
So whacha makin? |

I prefer to stick to sewing straight lines. I want to make some valances for DS's room. I also have some vintage patterns for little stuffed animals that I would like to make for DD and DS. I still like making aprons for little girls. I'd like to sell them on ETSY, but I haven't had time to make any lately, and I don't see that changing once DS arrives. I have fabric that I would like to make into pillows as well as fabric for some simple curtains for DD's room. I hate to say that we've been here for 2 years and she still has only roller shades at the windows. I had made curtains for her old room and then we moved and they were the wrong sizes. I'd also like to make a simple bag and some dipe/wipes holders. Yes, I have lots of ideas and grand visions, just not much time for the follow through. | |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | I just bought some more chenille to do burp cloths. They are chenille on one side and a cute matching patterned cotton on the other. We know 4 pregnant couples so I am getting a head start!!! |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | I am doing curtains (short, cafe style) for the girls' playroom. It's pink with multicolored polka dots in yellow, orange, lime, red, etc.) Very cute. I am doing ruffles and rickrack! I need them to be girly since I painted the room a kiwi green since I wasn't sure if Tara would be a boy.
I need to start Nora's big girl room update in the Princess style. Janelle, I found more of that fabric you sent, plus another princess one, so I am making a duvet cover, curtains and a bedskirt. I showed N the fabric and she is so excited.
I need to sew burp cloths for N's teacher who is due in May, too. I love to sew, but can't carve out the time. I get so focused, I can't do it with the girls awake or at home. They'd likely burn the place down!
When I get to my goal weight I am going to sew a skirt out of a piece of GORGEOUS silk that a friend brought back from Malaysia. |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | I'm taking a quilting class. I am working on one project - a folded star. Eventually, I plan to make several folded stars and stitch them together to make a quilt for my Granny. I will start work on the 2nd project - a table runner. I am super excited about that one.
I am going to try to hand-sew a diapees/wipees set for myself. I don't own a machine, so any sewing I have done or do now is by hand. |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | hemming IKEA curtains for my bedroom, and adding a valance made from a vintage tablecloth, duvet cover when I find the fabric I want, two pillows for my sister (one from a tshirt I convinced her to buy on eBay, one from a tea towel), altering a dress for DD. After that, shower curtain and curtains for the bathroom. |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | I have a quillow for a little boy started (christening gift)... the fabric on one side is printed with roads, buildings, etc so it can double as a play mat. Super cute.
I am contemplating an Easter dress for the Wee One. (And cute pattern, Jackie--now I might have to add to my to-do list!)
And I *have* to start some curtains & cushions for various places around the house.
Oh - and I need to make a cushion/cover for the window seat in the playroom.
All lofty ideas, and I have no time do get to them, really!

I came to the conclusion that I probably won't finish, and I'm ok with that. That will be my x-stitch "masterpiece", so I want it to be perfect! I decided I'd rather not rush through it. I think I'll finish sometime in 2008, but not before BB arrives. When I started it, I figured it would take 2 years to finish. July will be 2 years, so we'll see if estimated correctly. |

| Re: What are your sewing projects? | | I have a couple of projects underway. I'm working on a Texas Flag Quilt for my dad, recently finished up a quilted purse for my sister and loved it so much I *need* to make another one. I am making a monogrammed duffle bag for a friend who is going on a cruise for her 50th birthday next month. I'm not sure which I'll work on tomorrow - probably the bag since it's due the soonest. Oh and I have a table runner that's 90% done that I really should finish. Can you tell I'm good at starting projects but not quite as good at finishing them?
Dad's quilt is actually his Christmas gift and I haven't really even started. I have all the fabric picked and strewn across the spare room - does that count? I made so many other quilts for Christmas that I never got to his. I told him to check his mailbox in July. Can you still call it a Christmas gift if it's delivered when it's 100 degrees in TX? |
