Default Tissue paper blanket?

BB loves the sound of crinkling tissue paper. So, I was thinking of making a tissue paper blanket for her to play with. I was going to just sew 4-5 squares together for a thick square and then sew all the thicker squares together. Only problem is, she is putting everything in her mouth now (great ) ... so, I don't want the tissue to breakdown from her drool and then pieces get her mouth (choking). Should I just putting tissue paper between 2 squares of fabric, so she'd chew on the fabric while getting the same crinkle sound? If I do that, should I just go buy it? I am sure something like this already exists.

I think even if you put it between fabric it will get wet and gross and won't crinkle. DD has a baby doll with noisy crunchy stuff in the arms that she loved at that age. It has bells in the feet too. It was only about $8 at Walmart or BRU. I'd go for that. You can wash and dry it and it still crinkles.

When I made mine, I just put a walmart bag (or any other crunchy sounding shopping bag -- not Target) in the middle. It can be washed and line dried.

ETA:
To clarify, I sewed a little "taggie" rag of sorts with different ribbons sticking out the edges and the crinkly bag in between two pieces of flannel fabric.

I would go for the crinkly sounding fabric -- I agree that it just seems like it would get gross, and wouldn't be washable.

Use cello (you know, the clear plastic on a roll that you can giftwrap baskets in?) between two pieces of fabirc sewn together.
