I painted a terracotta pot with a thinning medium, no paint. I thought it was the color white and only realized it wasn't after I had painted most of the pot.

Will it be okay?

I plan to have the kids press their thumbprints in red paint (I double checked, the other bottles are paint!) on the painted area to make ladybugs.

It should be fine. You can even spray the pots when you done with a water sealant so that the paint doesn't come off.
