My SIL spoke to her midwife who also suggested I wait and in the meantime she adviced lots of walking and sex to get things going.
On the other hand my american BF said her own midwife told her that since she was dilated she shouldn't have sex for fear of infection...

Now what?

I was hoping the baby would come tomorrow around the time my doctor wanted me to be in the hospital. All sides happy then

If your water isnt broken there is no worry about infection - the amniotic sack is the baby's wall so nothing will get in.

Sex should help things get moving!

The sex thing, I beleive was proven to be an old wive's tale (truly designed by a man to ensure getting a few last hoorahs! LOL). I don't think it would hurt you, but what do I know. When I was dialated, I wouldn't let DH near me!

There is actually something in semen that does something to to the cervix - so it is a proven thing. Dr.s will recommend it. Of course it depends on if you can actually stand it at this point in pregnancy!

I say go for it too. It's gonna be five weeks before you can do it again so enjoy it as much as you can!

I agree with Morgan that since your water isn't broken, sex is fine.

HOWEVER, we did the deed multiple times a day and BB was STILL 14 days late!!

I had to stop because it was getting things going and then as soon as it was safe to partake again... I went right into labor. I was dialated for awhile and my doc who is very precautious was fine iwth it as long as i wasnt' showing signs or early labor and you wouldn't be or having any fluid leaking.
