| No.More.Water. | | I am so sick of water. I shudder and gag while filling up my water bottle. I need a change to beverage. I still drink tons of milk and calcium-fortified OJ, but I know I need to get some water in there. I can't do juices, because anything sweet makes me sick ... as does flavored water.
What can I do? I tried "poor man's" lemonade, and that kind of worked. Can I get by on just milk and OJ for a couple days? |

| Re: No.More.Water. | | Skip the water. Dr. Oz (spelling?) was on Oprah a couple of weeks ago, and he did an experiment with twin teenage girls. One drank water for a couple of weeks and the other drank none. The verdict - all the girls stats were exactly the same. He in essence said we get plenty of "water" from the foods and other liquids. So don't worry about getting those 8 glasses a day. |

| Re: No.More.Water. | | Kim, I lived on lightly (and I mean very little sugar) iced tea. Not always decaf, either. I could not drink water. The taste made me literally gag. A lot of the bottled iced and green teas worked for me too. I liked Honest Tea and Tazo a lot.
ETA: Just make sure you get enough fluid. I spent 8 hrs in L&D at 32 weeks from dehydration. It sucks and makes you feel like heck. It can also mimic premature labor. So just drink something! |

I haven't been able to find decaf chai tea, so I've been limiting the amount due to the caffeine.
I will start trying some bottled teas - thanks! |

The difference is that Kim is pregnant which does make a big difference.
I wasn't a water drinker in my first two pregnancies either so I know it can be hard. I agree to try to eat foods high in water. Watermelon would be great as well as apples, cantelope etc. Have you tried water at different temperatures? I know that sounds silly but I can't drink ice cold water mine has to be closer to room temperature.
You may also want to look into Red Raspberry leaf tea. Do a search online for it. It is GREAT during pregnancy and afterwards and you just might like it.
Good luck! |

Good luck! | I didn't say she shouldn't drink and stay hydrated. I'm just saying she doesn't have to worry about getting her fluids from water alone. She had other options.
For example, I ate watermelon all the time! That was awesome for me. I've never been a big water drinker, and that's not changed now that I'm expecting. |

I'm actually headed there this morning. I'll grab you a couple cans. PM me when you get a chance and I'll try to get it out this afternoon (if I'm lucky). |
