Ginger - either crystalized or ginger tea.
Peppermint also works for some - sucking on peppermints or keeping peppermint EO nearby.
I am both happy and sad for you

I was sick all day, too. Better in the mornings, and worse after lunch. Food of any kind made me want to die.

If yogurt, fruit and crackers is working for you, go with it. If you can, take your prenatals.

With Nora, it was baked potatoes. Loved them. Baked potatoes with butter, salt, pepper and sour cream. Yum. And lemonade. I am surprised I didn't turn into a lemon.

With Tara is was mac and cheese and iced tea.

Other weird things that appealed were:

Ham, cucumber and cream cheese on sourdough bread (the bread could not be sweet in any way)

Bologna (?!?!?!...in reality, I hate it) on white with yellow mustard. Still don't know why I wanted THAT!

Arizona Green Tea

Kix cereal. Dry.

Good luck, Morgan! Just eat when you can and what you can! David would laugh at me because I'd want something, he'd go get it, but by the time he got back, I didn't want it anymore. He put on weight eating the food he bought for ME!

ETA: Ginger does help. With Tara, I found I could eat meat at my SIL...she's Japanese and cooked with ginger. Lots of it!

Default Re: Morning Sickness: what worked for you?

Sorry...with both pregnancies I was sick as a dog ALL DAY and nothing much worked for me...I'd munch constantly on carb things like bread, crackers, ice cream, bananas, rice pudding and drink lemon soda to help burp it out but that was just temporary relief because as soon as I stopped chewing, it all curdled in my stomach and had to come out. Also what worked one minute didn't work the other so I had to alternate. In the end I'd pick things that didn't taste nasty when throwing up (gross I know)...you'd be suprised how acidic some foods turn versus others that are milder and therefore more bearable.
I did eat a lot more stuff while pregnant this time (like I could stomach meat and eggs) but not much of it stayed down. During the early days I'd throw up 10-12 times a day...
I hope your sms doesn't last long and that you do find some type of food to relieve you. But don't worry about what you're eating right now, the baby is fine. I once met a pregnant woman who could only stomach raw spaghetti with fresh tomato!

Honestly, one of the only things that worked was laying down and resting - staying horizontal was all I could do for relief. And make sure you're taking your prenatals at bedtime.

To be honest, NOTHING worked for me. I only threw up a couple times, but I was VERY nauseated throughout my pregnancy. Nothing really worked to alleviate it.

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. It is no fun. I had horrible ms also. What finally worked for me was setting my alarm for every 2-3 hours in the middle of the night and quickly eating something with a little protein in it. Crackers and Cheese, apples and peanut butter. Not a lot, just a little something. Then go back to sleep. I actually kept a little cooler by my bed so I didn't have to go to the kitchen. By the time I woke up for the day I was still a little queasy but so much better and could actually keep food down for the day. Then i would keep up my little bit of protein every 2-3 hours through the day. I tried everything in the book but this was the only thing that worked. I was dog tired though.

Good Luck and I hope you find relief somehow.

Spearmint helped me too - I got a bottle of EO and left it open on my desk just to sniff every once in a while. And spearmint gum.

Also, citrus. I put lemon in my water or just sniffed a fresh lemon.

Nothing really helped until it just went away all together - but those helped me a bit.

I ate crackers in bed before I even sat up, prenatals at bedtime, and devoured carbs whenever and wherever.

ginger ale, specifically scheweppes in the small glass bottles bc they were a lot more bubblier than seagrams in a can. How sad that I became a ginger ale expert, but it seemed to help a little bit, I also liked popcorn, and Target brand Archer farms honey, raisin, almond granola bars, I'd have one first thing in the morning.
Often I'd be okay in the morning, but by afternoon all of a sudden it would be 3 or something and I'd realize I'd let things slide, hadn't eaten in awhile and I was that bad combo of famished and nauseous.
Sorry you're feeling like crap but, ummmm yay?!
