Default milk supply

I think i had read here that eating oatmeal and drinking lots of water will have help with milk supply.

Is there anything else i could do to help? With DD it took awhile for my milk to come in, and I was always worried i wasn't producing enough.

TIA

Fenugreek. You can get it in pill form and I think it's the main ingredient in Mother's Milk Tea. Look at a health food store or Whole Foods.

In my case, I really struggled with supply with my first DD. With my second..I have more than she can use. By this time with DD#1 I was using fenugreek. I haven't needed it yet with DD#2.

And it took 5 stinking days for my milk to come in with DD #1...it came in on day 3/4 for DD#2.

Oatmeal and water do help a lot, too! Try not to worry

Kim is right. I would try the Mother's Milk tea before the fenugreek though - I had to take it with #3 and I hated that stuff.

The best things to do other than what she listed to increase your supply is to nurse, nurse, nurse, keep baby with you, skin to skin contact and nothing other than the boob. I know women worry about the baby losing weight but that is totally normal. Each of the girls lost a full pound and took a few weeks to gain that back. None of them were back to their birth weight in 2 weeks and probably not in 3 weeks either.

It took 4 days for my milk to come in with Avery which surprised us all since I was already BFing Kerianne. However, I just kept putting her to the breast as often as I could. She had colostrum those 4 days, nothing else, and did just fine.

Try not to worry.

Wow Susan! Baby two is just around the corner! Do you know what you are having? Any names you'd like to share? Good luck!
I had Mother's Milk tea on hand as well. Turns out I didn't need it at the beginning, but later on when things feel like they are tapering off it was nice to have it around.

Your milk might come on a lot faster this time around too...Mine did the second time. I liked the EMAB Mama's Milk Tea too. It left me feeling engorged after just a cup!

I've done better with Mother's Milk Tea than with fenugreek.

I also pumped like mad at the beginning and that helped me.
