I need to find a new home for my maternity clothes as I am already tossing the stuff I know I will never wear (or fit into) again in a tub and in a few months I hope to clear the rest out. There is a mommy/baby consignment store by me that I went to today and it seemed that everything on their racks were from Target or Kohls. If I am buying used clothes for inexpensive I want at least Gap quality! I am just wondering if I would be better served dropping my good and no name brand stuff off at consignment or selling it in lots on Ebay? (I have no desire to do individual items and shipping them out all over town so big lots it is!)

Consign the stuff you will get good $ for... and then pass the rest on to someone who needs them?

I've never consigned anything, but I've had good luck with ebaying my maternity clothes. I grouped them into lots of similar items - all skirts, all jeans, etc. The only thing I didn't sell were my jammies and my t-shirts. I made really good money on them. Ebay is a pain, but once I get the stuff up there its always been worth my time.

And see, I'm the opposite -- a near ebay virgin. I have never sold anything on ebay...and have only purchased 3 things (1 being a dress I bought Isabella last night). I have, however, sold at consignment....though it's been ages.

All that said...I am really lazy and usually end up donating clothes to Goodwill and just taking the tax write off. You get ~30% back (or we do)...and there's very little work for me to do!

I am of the lazy category too and don't do much ebaying. I don't like the idea of taking the pictures and doing all the explaining and shipping. I usually just give all my stuff away but now that I am DONE I am realizing how much nice stuff I have and I don't have any close friends to pass it off to that I might as well give making some money off the stuff a try.
