I saw a new trainer yesterday. Got a whole new workout regimen. J's plan: "you need to push yourself harder". She has seen my progress from the start. She leads a Women on Weights class in the weight room when I am there on T and Th. So, she knows where I started and sees what I do every week.
We did one set of each new exercise yesterday. No problem. Lots of new stuff on the cool Kinesis machines. Pull ups (ow) and some exercises that work lots of muscle groups at once. She does 16 reps, 3 sets of each exercise.
No problem. She says the set of exercises (about 10 or 12) should take me the full hour.
No freaking kidding. Holy cow. One set of each was totally doable. THREE sets???? Um, yeah, J. We are really pushing my comfort zone...like into the ibuprofen zone!
Don't get me wrong, it's great. I love that she's challenging me, but man, I feel like I did when I started on my first day back at the gym.
The upside...oh man, will I be wearing miniskirts and short shorts on this ya ya!
