Default Motivation

I know I've commented here and there about needing to get involved, but it's really time. I did two things today I haven't done for a while: stood on the scale, and looked in the full-length mirror. I've been loosely saying that I've needed to lose 10-15, but I think that number is up to 20. I'm determined to take it off before ttc, and I don't want to get that ttc urge, but feel unable to act on it because I'm not as healthy as I'd like to be.
So, keep me accountable, ladies! I went on a walk this morning with the kids and even managed to jog for a little while. The biggest things I need to work on are listening to hunger cues instead of eating all the time- particularly out of boredom/habit, etc., cutting my portion sizes, and increasing my activity levels. I guess that about sums it up, eh? I just need some sort of a change of focus- do sit ups when I'm wanting a treat, etc. Wish me luck, ladies! Operation shape up for baby #3 is on!

You can do it. If you can, get your exercise in early...I am much more apt to flake if I put it off till later.

I do the 20 min rule for snacks: If I want a snack and it's not been at least 3 hrs since I last ate (because then, you are entitled to a healthy snack), I drink a big glass of water and set the timer for 20 mins. If I am still hungry when the timer goes off, I have something. Often, I was just thirsty or the 20 mins gives me time to get busy with something.

For portion sizes, read labels and get out your meas. cups and spoons. Once you see that a serving of pasta is a half-cup and you measure it out, you'll start to recognize what you are eating and make choices that allow you to eat more for fewer calories.

YOU CAN DO IT! I just went back to the WW CORE diet this past week and dropped 3 lbs this week alone. I stuck to only water and coffee with ff milk for beverages, and really just did whole foods. DH is doing it too, and we feel great...no points counting, just a list of what you can have, and what you can't. That's what works for me, but everyone is different.

I think if you portion your snacks and have them ready and avail, you'll be great. Good for you!!

good luck and they are right you can do it! I'm telling you...well I still have yet to work on my diet big time, BUT I will say I just feel better (well tonight I'm sore as all get out) but I feel so much better in the day when I know i've done my three days a week. And I know if I stop then that will be it for me. I loose my motivatino FAST! So stick to it baby!
