Default How's it going??

It's been a while since we had a thread -- how is it going for everyone? Where's your motivation level? Post-race it's been tough for me to get back in a normal groove. I decided I need a new goal or it will be very easy to lose all the gains (or I guess really gain back all the losses) I've made. Anyone find any new exercise you love? I need some inspiration!!

I'm making a concerted effort to ride my kids all over town to get my exercise. I got a great used Burly from my neighbor and we have helmets on almost daily. I think I have a fear that winter's coming and I'm not ready to put up my bike.
And WW is coming along. This week is good.

Lame. Lame lame lame lamelamelame. Did I mention that it's going lamely? I need to be exercising. I got Wii Fit, but I can't use that as my only exercise outlet. This is one reason why I can't wait to move - gyms and SIDEWALKS. I also need to do better at eating throughout the day. DH comes home, takes BB, and so I go out for some 'me' time. But, by then, I'm so hungry, because I've had 2 bowls of oatmeal and that's it. So, I go to Starbucks because, gosh darn it, I deserve that iced chai tea latte and slice of marble cake!!!

Well, it's going 50/50. My exercise routine (the new one that made me want to die when I started) is getting easier. So, when we get back from our trip, I'll get a 2nd workout from my trainer to alternate with this one. I am seeing a difference in my strength level and muscle definition, so that is cool.

Also, I broke the 9 min mile barrier! I've been pushing for that for a while now, and I finally cracked it. I can only keep it up for a couple of miles, but it's a start!

The weight is more iffy. I catch myself slipping into old habits (nighttime grazing without restraint) and that is bad. But at least I catch myself. I keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. I still can't figure out of the gain is due to PMS because it always coincides with me eating more food at that time (we're traveling or I'm eating because of the PMS, KWIM?). So that part sucks because I *STILL* can't figure out how many points I can confidently eat per day with the amount of activity I am doing. I am trying Core, but I just love my bread...and I hate fat free stuff (except yogurt).

Jackie, I hear you on the bad weather. I am going to need some new gear to keep up the running when it gets cold. Boo.

I haven't exercised since we went to DW I was getting on the treadmill at least 3 or 4 times a week, but then we went on vacation (which did include a ton of exercise). But when we got back I had to spend the next week recuperating and catching up. Then I got strep throat, which had me out for a week. Then the new semester started and I literally don't have time to workout. I get up at 5:30 and most days don't get home until between 6:30 and 7:00. The few nights that I do get home early, we have Rangers games to go to so I don't want to work out and get all sweaty and then have to take another shower and get ready a second time to go to the game.

Last week I put on a pair of pants that were very snug, and this weekend I broke a button off a pair of shorts because they were too tight So on Monday I started really upping my water (I had been drinking maybe 1 glass a day), cutting back on my coffee & diet cokes, and paying more attention to what & how much I eat. I've lost about 2 pounds already, and though I know its all water I need to shed this excess water weight anyway.

I really need to tone up though. Since my trainer quit last Nov I have lost almost all of the muscle tone that I had I have got to find some time to at least do something everyday. I know I can't go to the gym for 1+ hours anymore with my work schedule, but I have to do *something* or I'm going to be right back in the same position I was in a year ago.

I'm not doing well since I went on vacation. All the treats we brought are gone. So that's good. I'm very stress and that works different everyday there's day that I eat everything I can and day I can not eat at all. I need to get organized again. I weight myself this morning I was happy to see that I didn't gain any actually I think I lost a pound but I need to check.
I told DH that if he gets a new job I want to go to the gym. I need to. I walk everyday, but last month we have like 20 something days with more than 100 degrees so I didn't walk home everyday like I used to. My motivation is that I found sunday a box that Sarah sent me with pants, most are size 8 and I can not used them yet, so I have my goal right there I want to get on those!!!!!

It's not. I haven't exercised in a few weeks since before my Napa drunk hip injury. I tried and did some light swimming but it HURT the next day. I signed up for WW again this week but am trying to be quiet about it and mellow with it. I got back to my old comfy weight in just a few days now I need to break that barrier again, get back to my May Ya Ya weight and then to my goal. Really, the same stinkin 7 pounds that I have been fighting. I am trying to not make a big deal of it and just be content because I know my body fluctuates a few pounds very easily it is keeping the old stuffing my face habits at bay or if I eat a cheeseburger for lunch to not have cheesecake for desert after dinner. I need to keep track of my treats so that they aren't an all day long thing!

It's sorta going. I am trying hard to continue my running - but it is getting easier to find excuses. I have pretty much eliminated night time eating, but weekends are HORRIBLE for me.
Need to get some calorie free wine.

I didn't even tell myself I would start working out until yesterday. Then the floors went in. Now that my schedule isn't so crazy, I'm going to start working out more. I've been eating ok. I slipped up yesterday big time, but did ok at lunch today and dinner tonight will be cereal. I'm glad to say that despite not working out, having had the longest 2 weeks of my life, I'm down 3 lbs.

I'll get my exercise tomorrow walking at the zoo.
