Default Doing it alone isn't working

I was doing so well and then went back to school last year...and gained 15 pounds. Now, I need to drop it to fit in my summer clothes (not that it will happen immediately, but I need to get back into them) and doing it alone isn't working. So, here I post.

I swear I've been hungry for the last few days as I once again cut out the extra snacking. My worst time of day is 1 to 4 in the afternoon. I eat out of boredom or frustration (a.k.a. kids). The hard part about this is I have a hard time exercising when it is warm because I will faint if I'm not careful (been to a doc and know what is going on..just hard to regulate electrolytes for me during the summer when I sweat so much). I do run 3x week and lift one day, but still don't loose weight.

I know no one has answers for me, but I'm posting away regardless because I'm frustrated with myself.

Are you sure you are eating enough. I know this sounds silly, but if you are working out and not eating enough food you will not lose weight. Instead of snacking on junk, try snacking on fruit, string cheese, veggies. Also make sure you are drinking enough water and not high calorie drinks.

The weight loss battle is hard, hang in there.

Thanks. Yes, I am eating enough. We acutally have a very balanced diet when the cake and cookies are cut out. So, cake and cookies are no longer. I am still looking for a salt heavy afternoon snack though. I tend to stick to tostitos because they have the salt I need...without them I'd have to start drinking gatorade again (yuck).

One thing I would say is to make sure you're eating often enough as well. I know I do much better when I make myself eat every 3 hours or so, even if I don't want to - because if I don't by the time I get to a meal my blood sugar has crashed and I am more likely to just eat whatever is closest. If you know that 1-4 is a hungry time, plan to have a big snack then and maybe plan for a smaller dinner plus a later snack. I also noticed that when I do more intense exercise my body responds better - maybe you could swim or something if you're very sensitive to heat? I hope you find something that works for you - everybody's different!
