Anyone have a good home remedy for a sore throat? I am pretty sure it is strep and I have a doctor appointment for Monday, but getting through the next two days with a sore throat is going to kill me. I hate the sprays and the meltaways and I am getting tired of soothing drops. Do I jump in with salt water gargle? Any other ideas? Also, help me think of foods that will be soft on my throat. Right now I am living on soup, tea, yogurt, ice cream, and instant Mac and Cheese because they soothe it. Any other ideas?!

I would do salt water and homeopathy - boiron makes stuff sold at Whole Foods and Vitamin Shop.

How about smoothies or jello? Anything sugar free as sugar feeds infection.

Oh man! that was me a week ago. Hot tea with lemon and honey. Lemon tea. Lemonade. And then when you are done with the natural route...Advil. Advil and chloreseptic but gargle it. I am sorry. Mine was so bad!

We would mix honey and lemon juice growing up and microwave it to heat, then drink it down. It coats the throat and helps soothe. Hope you feel better soon!

You have to wait til Monday??? Around here if you say you have been exposed to Strep you can just go to the lab and they will culture and you only have to see a Dr. if it is positive....
I second the Lemon and Honey idea
