Default How do you clean?

Windex easy wipes.

This is a place to share how we manage it all. What do you get done in the 15 minutes? How do you find time to scrap book, read and work out?! Where does the DH and the pets fit into the picture when you are trying to keep a litter of little people alive, active and entertained?! Remember to make your own dental appointment, the dog's vax and licensing and if you have time...set DH up for a colonoscopy just for the fun of it!

LOL.....funny, but true about the colonoscopy!
15 minutes? I can do alot if I set my mind to it....load the dishwasher, empty the trashcans and straighten up the toys. I try ot do this 15 minute routine every night beofre bed so we wake up to a straightened house-just easier to wake happy!!

First, I have to step away from the computer.

I'm a list maker, so when I see a list a mile long it motivates me to get my butt in gear. I also make notes in my momagenda of when I need to schedule those dentist appts, etc.

The whole fifteen minute bit works for me. As flylady says, "you can do anything for fifteen minutes." Breaking the tedium into chunks is much more doable.

Default Re: How do you clean?

When I am doing my flylady 15 minute thing, I will pick a zone and do it top to bottom. Usually not more than about 10x10. For example, I will attack my laundry room first every time. In 15 minutes I can load/unload the washer/dryer and start them. Then I take all my cleaning supplies off the shelves, wipe them down, and put them back more organized. I jot down a list of any supplies I need while I put them back, then wipe down the washer and dryer, and sweep up the floor last. It helps to actually have a timer counting down rather than watching the clock because it makes me competitive and I have to beat the clock instead of focusing on perfection. I also go top to bottom. I don't worry about the heavy stuff like mopping the floor or cleaning out the dryer vent unless I have another 15 minutes later in the day. That is a really specific example that is fresh in my mind because I did it about an hour ago! But the same approach applies to every room. Some rooms (kitchen, bathroom, playroom) tend to take longer than 15 minutes, so I do two or three 15 minute sessions throughout the day. I pick one room a day and figure I will get around to everything in a week to a week and a half. In-between, I just fight the clutter monster and try to round up random dirty dishes. Now, remembering to and actually making calls for appointments, etc is something I have never quite gotten the hang of. If someone has tips for that, bring em' on.
