| How do you like your holidays? | | Up here, we don't start school until after Labor Day. I love the start of the new school year (buying new school supplies and clothes!), but I am really trying not to rush things.
I want to enjoy the rest of the summer. Then around mid-Sept, I want to get excited for Halloween. I like to be prepared and plan things, but I don't want to singing Christmas songs in October, KWIM? I love that Nordstrom doesn't decorate their windows for the holidays until after Thanksgiving, and that they post a note to that effect.
What about you?

| Re: How do you like your holidays? | | I totally agree! I love to celebrate and decorate for all the Holidays but I want to enjoy each one in its own time, not Christmas in September! |

| Re: How do you like your holidays? | | ME too!!!!! I love each one on their own! Part of the Christmas holiday is rushing around between november and december, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I was done in October. |

| Re: How do you like your holidays? | | I do like to enjoy each holiday as it comes. BUT, I think that the Christmas season should be longer than the 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. For one thing, I spend a whole lot of money/time/effort decorating for Christmas to only enjoy it for 4 weeks. If I ruled the world, the US Thanksgiving would be the same time as the Canadian Thanksgiving (in October), and then we could celebrate Christmas all of November & December. |

I'm always so envious of your four weeks of celebration between Thanksgiving and Christmas. |

| Re: How do you like your holidays? | | I like how ours are currently - starting in August there is a long weekend every month for the rest of teh year
I like having Thanksgiving in October, then having some time in November to prep for Christmas. We don't decorate our house until after Little Mr's birhtyda party, which we have on the day of our town's Christmas parade (usually the first weekend in December). After that, I put up the non-tree decorations, and the tree about a week before CHristmas. I shop throughout the year, so that I"m not dragged away from the house during that time. |

Just the mere thought of Christmas makes me happy. The mere thought of BB's first Christmas tickles me pink!!! I LOVE Christmas. It's the only holiday where I put lots of effort into everything. I mean, what other holiday do you care about ribbon??? The other holidays are 'meh' for me. They will be more exciting because they are BB's first, but, IMO, the other holidays don't hold a candle to Christmas! |

| Re: How do you like your holidays? | | But if we had thanksgiving in October, wouldn't Halloween get a short shrift? I loooooove Halloween! How about Thanksgiving a week or two earlier in November? (I mean since we have so much say in how the country sets its calendar, he-he) |
