Poop was hard ... not rock hard, but more "formed" than normal. The blood wasn't too bad ... couple of drops. Not pooling. We went to the ped today (sorry, just got back from there), and he recommended giving her prune juice to soften her stools a little. He said to bring her back in if there's still blood once her stools soften.

He checked her ears, and they were fine. The way she was pulling on them last night, I would've put money on an ear infection. I am really surprised they were fine. Maybe it was just fluid still draining from her ear infection earlier this month? It's been nearly 4 weeks ...

I have read formula babies are more likely to get constipated. I know Cory did all those years ago. Is she on formula with iron? If so you may want to try the regular one at least part of the time.

So glad that BB doesn't have an ear infection. Try the prune juice. I bet she'll love it!

Our ped said that once the infection is gone, fluid (which is no longer infected or causing bulging red ear drums) remains behind the ear for 4-6 weeks. The fluid can sometimes cause a tickling feeling which is why some kids still tug and poke at their ears.

Yes, this. I am dealing with this right now . . I'm such a kid
That is exactly how it feels though. Hope she is feeling better Kim.

Ok, first, I am so glad there's nothing serious going on.

Second...proceed with caution with the prune juice.
Definitely dilute it and remember a little goes a long way!

DN was seriously backed up as a baby (maybe 5 or 6 mo old). Sis gave her prune juice per the nurse's directions.

Can you say poop explosion? Up to her neck in poop!

LOL! Yeah, the ped said to give her 3oz of prune juice twice a day. There is no way I am doing that. Maybe an ounce a day to see how much it helps, and increase if necessary. I don't even want to think about the mess I'd have if BB had 6oz of prune juice in one day. Can we say double code brown???
