Default blood in poop

Another poop question. So now when I changed her diaper this am (not her first diaper but she poo'd after her first feed) there was little strings of blood in it. Not a ton, but definate blood there, about 4 little strings in there. Her poop was not strained and it was the normal fair.. maybe a little more green than normal. But should I be conerned??/

First- is the blood in the poop or on it? On it is more of a fissure issue, but in it is something different. A had blood in her poop once while I was bfing (I freaked due to DH's crohn's) but the ped asked if I'd had any breast soreness and said I was probably bleeding internally, but it was coming out through milk and she was ingesting it, hence passing it in her poop. If it continues for longer than a day or two I'd definitely call the ped, but see if you're sore at all or having boob issues. Good luck, Linda!

Blood in stools often results in black stools. Blood on the stools is usually pink red....If I saw black stools I would be at a hospital ASAP....pink/red tinged, I would wait and see if it persisted or increased in amount.

If I saw it again I'd be concerned enough to call the doctor.

And not to be gross, but I would consider scraping the sample into a bag or sealed cup to bring along. If you leave it in the diaper, sometimes it will absorb into it so you can't see it anymore.

F used to have blood streaking his stools - all part of his food allergies/gastrointestinal distress. Once or twice I wouldn't worry. If you see it a lot, go to a ped GI. Also - is there mucous?

SHe has had two more poops one was fine the other had more in it. It was bloody and like mucusy. so I called and talked to the doc and she said if it happens two more times or if the amount keeps increasing (there was more this time than last, of course it wasn't as much poop or as dark so maybe I saw more of it) then to bring her in unless there seems like a lot then just take her to the hospital. She thinks maybe a internal fischer?? I dont' know. She seems cranky so maybe also an infection I dont know. I feel like there a curse on my house!

If it happens more and you have to go to the ped, take a sample along so they can test it. I had this with both kids...one due to a fistula and the other due to under-developed digestive track. I hope it doesn't come back.

Linda, did she stop having blood in her diapers? BB had blood in her poopy diaper today, and I am wondering what steps you took ... Blood was on the poop, not in the poop.
