Default Doll house for a 4.5 year old....

Would you be more inclined to purchase a dollhouse like this:

Or a more traditional wood doll house like this:

pottery barn kids | Westport Dollhouse & Accessori

(Sorry, can't get the pic to work)

The price difference is huge so I am leaning toward the plastic on from Fisher Price but I LOVE the wood one.

If money were not an issue, I'd do the PB one. But I think DDs would like the FP one better!

I love the PB one. I'd want to be good and get the plastic one, but I'd probably end up with the PB one. (Because I'm so good with self control)

Last year I purchased the PB firehouse last year and thanks to Lynn, I found one from Back to Basic Toys. I just checked and they don't have anything like that for girls, but it may be worth while to check out a few other places.

Bubbs plays with plastic fischer price house that was my sister's. Either way, I think O will love it.

If money were no issue, then I would get the PB one. But, I would follow Lynni's suggestion and check a few other places first. You might find a great deal!

I vote wood but would check Lakeshore, and a few local toystores before buying the PB one.

Beck, you may know this, but there is a Lakeshore right on M-59. (My mom used to drag me there)

I'd go PB but we don't like plastic here.

We got this one for the girls last year with the additional basement and they love it:

We have one that's nearly identical to this one but it's by Ryan's Room. There are a few companies make nice quality wood dollhouses.

The thing is, what kind of kid is she? If she is a plastic lover, get her the plastic one. Last year I would have said the wooden one hands down but my friend gave her daughter a beautiful wooden one like Keri's and her daughter did not like it at all. They were both crushed. My friend even offered to paint it for her daughter-no dice.

It seems like the PB one would be easy to make. Get some parts like this and send your husband to the garage for a while. VICTORIAN EXTERIOR Dollhouse DOOR
