Might I also suggest reading Freakonomics before naming your child. It has some interesting food for thought about the connotations of names.

Or, if you ever need help in picking a name, my DH can pick apart/make fun of/ruin nearly any name you can come up with. He tells me he is saving kids from the teasing they will receive on the playground by being proactive and telling parents before they actually name their child!

I'm still bitter from 5 years ago when one of my favorite girl names received the comment "that sounds like a stripper!"

Off the list forever now.

That was my DH's response to almost every name I picked out! I finally had to ask him how many strippers he knew.

Yeah, what is with all of the stripper names? My DH says the same thing too. I never thought of Veronica is a stripper name, but Dh did.
