You could say we are Disney freaks. We have three rooms in our house completely dedicated to Disney characters, including one bathroom that is painted red, black, and white in honor of Mickey. Thus it should come as no surprise that we travel to DisneyLand a lot (we have annual passes and we live in Texas). Since our first child was born three years ago, we have made six trips to DisneyLand with children, and therefore consider ourselves experts at navigating the happiest place on earth with now two toddlers. Here are some of the lessons we've learned.

| Re: Discussion: Disneyland Travel Advice | | Excellent Jaye! I live close by and you've been more than I have!
My other tip - if you have a child with food allergies - call the dining number for Disney and they will give you the most fantastic guidance on what your child can and cannot eat. We got to Disneyland with such confidence - truly making it the happiest place on Earth! |

| Re: Discussion: Disneyland Travel Advice | | Wow! I didn't realize that there was so much difference between DisneyLand and DisneyWorld. The whole set up sounds really totally different, I guess b/c ours is spaced out so much more and we have several different parks (4) and the monorail. I don't know why I assumed they had one. But the chuckabub system is totally something I have never heard before but that is brilliant and something I must try!!! Especially if we ever brave the line for the stupid Dumbo's (that remains the same in both parks!) |

| Re: Discussion: Disneyland Travel Advice | | I have never been to any Disney. When's the best time to go? I hate crowds, and I know there will always be crowds, but is there a good season/day of the week for fewer crowds? I'd like to go once before babies come, so we really need to get this plan in gear. |

If I were you, choose to go when school is in session and the weather is good. Like maybe March or so. Avoid spring break and easter vacations like the plague! It's always busy in the summer.
In California you don't have to worry about the weather so much. You might want to come like the first week in December. They decorate it all for Christmas and it is so cool. |

| Re: Discussion: Disneyland Travel Advice | | Oooooo ... December sounds good. We are taking so much vacation that month, but it's a slow month at work, so what's another couple days, right? |

They do have a monorail but it only runs from Downtown Disney to DisneyLand Park. We rarely take it because then we have to get everyone out and fold up the stroller and then go through the whole song and dance to get out again and it just ends up being a bigger pain than the 5 minute walk to the front gate. |

| Re: Discussion: Disneyland Travel Advice | | Really you can't take your stroller open[on the monorail]?? interesting, yeah the parks are really big here and spaced out, but I always kind of like it htat way b/c its just like there are just spaces and more spaces to explore. But then again I've never been to DL.
And Kim December can be crowded again if you go close to when school is out and new years. If you go early Dec, its pretty good. Fall is my personal favorite. but I love Epcot in the fall for the Food and Wine Festival which is THE BEST!!!! They have all day wine siminars and great food and cool cooking demos (with samples on most of them). Its just great, the weather is great and its just perfect. Its from the very very end of Sept to mid Nov. Oct and Nov are my favorite times of year adn then like Feb. and late April (but it can be warm but its not overly hot! just nice like 80's). Oct and Nov its like 80's and a nice cool breeze and it can actually even get cold and we have a little less rain. April it can stay cool too but usually is more warm than cool, and keep in mind that my tempature standard and your's may totally be different. We pull out heavy coats when its in the 60s. Kids wear sweaters when its in the 70's and no one wears shorts at all if its below 80 (unless you are a new transplant or a tourist.) |
