Default Re: Discussion: 1 Dozen Ways to Reduce Energy Usage

One of the first things I'm doing when we get home in January is replacing every single light bulb in our house with flourescent ones. I think it's the single easiest way to reduce energy uses. Yes, the bulbs are more expensive but they last longer than incandescent ones. And with lower energy bills, it all works out.

We had the contractors put solar panels outside our big living room windows. That will help tremendously because they are directly in the sun's path and the room gets so hot. This should help keep the temps down a bit, thus decreasing the need to use the air so much. Let's hope!

We did by energy star appliances too!
